I recently had Windows 10 on my current system running for months maybe a year fine, then while playing a game my mouse went insane beeping and not responding to my clicks. I could use my keyboard but couldnt do anything with my mouse. So I decided to do a hard reboot on the system and it ran into some complicated issues that forced me to do a clean install no repair options worked and all failed after numerous reboots.

After the clean install I updated my drivers and downloaded all my games from steam and my mp3 music from my external HDDs; like business as usual. Shockingly enough it happened again, so I am thinking it is something to do with my hardware even though I have not gotten any new hardware recently I did replace my HDD to a nice western digital one a few months ago and things have been fine.

Cursor Lagging/Freezing Issue Solved For Windows 10/8/7

The only way to fix the 1 scenario was to run a freeware program called "Caffeine" that keeps pressing an imaginary F15 key so my PC doesnt think its sleep. Even though my power settings are to not sleep or have any USB devices go sleep or I've tried different USB ports for the mouse and a completely different mouse and neither of those things made a difference I even connected both mouses in to the computer and when it freaks out for one, both are unresponsive.

Even my Xbox controller doesnt work when it happens if i go afk in a game in come back it doesnt respond at all. Also, my keyboard can move around my computer fine, I can alt tab between programs and interact with them fine. The only thing is I can't do a soft reboot, it stalls forever saying "Restarting" so I have no choice but to hard reboot it every time. I've also tried disconnecting and reconnecting my mouse after this happens and it doesnt help, still dead.

But I dont think its the problem and would love some assistance from you guys if you have any suggestions I'm all ears. Posted 17 March - AM. By default it'll be a. I presume that this is a desktop computer?

I presume that you've tried the ports in the front and in the back? If so equipped, have you tried this with the USB 2.

Yes, that is correct, a desktop computer. Nothing is using my front USB ports at the moment.

Thank you for your response and your help. Posted 17 March - PM. So after it happened again last night, I decided to just leave my PC on and alone for the night without caffeine running and it didnt do the 1 scenario of beeping on clicks and unresponsive.

There is random beep that keeps coming up. I truly is random, I can't seem to find any pattern to match when the beeping is occurring. I only think it might have something to do with my mousepad because the beeping seems to occur more often when I move my mouse furiously. Sometimes the beep will occur multiple times with the same motion, but then it stops. I try a different type of motion until I find another that elicits another beep or two, but then it stops.

There is a thread on Acer's forum where the same issue has been reported on Aspire laptops:.

I get the issue with the same Acer Aspire R 14 in Windows 10, and noticed some things with the issue. Me too. I bought a new Acer R11 yesterday and the first thing I did was upgrade to Windows 10, the beeping and mouse-lagging has been occurring pretty regularly since - it's infuriating. It's a new laptop so I haven't played any games on it or done anything remotely demanding yet.

I saw on another thread that it could be to do the USB port, but all I have put in there is an 8gb stick Well I too had the same problem on my 5 day Acer Aspire r11 especially when opening web browser or start button. Yesterday i did something that eradicated that beeping problem and hope this too will help you guys as well. Does it still do it after a fresh reinstall of Windows? I encountered the same issue, both Windows 7 and Windows 8. I'm friends with him and we play games online after work and he's started to have this persistent issue with his mouse while using his pc.

The issue is that the computer will start beeping when he tries to click the mouse and the input is unresponsive. This normally happens right after he uses his controller. I've looked into the problem a little bit and there have been a lot of people with either the same or similar issue. It seems like either a driver issue or there are too many inputs for the mouse. The reason I'm asking here is because there were quite a few people the other day here that said they used Razer and the mouse is a Razer Momba.

Anyone have any ideas? Just to be clear, this is a digital mouse, not an old roller ball one, right? Assuming it's digital, save yourself a trip and have them replace their mousepad with a sheet of plain old printer paper.

There's something about the flat, non-glossy surface that digital mice love. I've fixed a few jumpy mice issues that way. It's not a good long term fix since the paper will shed over time, but at least you'll confirm the cause and can buy them a better mousepad. You wrote that they are 2 hours away! Somehow they kept getting all the peanut butter and not falling in the bucket no matter how many adjustments I made. So one night I stood watch to see how they were doing it and when one of them appeared, I killed it with a blowdart I made earlier. Brand Representative for Horizon DataSys. Too many inputs for the mouse - I'm not sure what that even means, if you mean it has 12 buttons as an example a keyboard has or more and this doesn't cause beeps.

The cable will be USB so it wont matter, but do make sure the driver and the correct one are installed and nothing else needs installing in device manager.

The beeps are because the background has frozen so nothing can be clicked, its just an audio version of the fact nothing clicks. If your friend upgraded from windows 7, 8 or 8.
